Kostoula Kaloudi is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of the Peloponnese. She studied film direction in Athens and went on to pursue film and audiovisual studies at the University Paul Valéry-Montpellier ΙΙΙ. Her doctoral thesis concerns the relationship of the Greek cinema and history. She has taught courses on  film at the Ionian University on Corfu, the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki and the University of the Peloponnese. She has contributed articles to international journals, conference proceedings and edited volumes ( Editions Rodopi B.V., Editions L’ entretemps, Revue textimage, Publications de la Sorbonne etc ) and she has participated in international conferences. She has also published two books in Greece (The Asia Minor catastrophe in cinema, Athens, Dodoni, 2001, Filmic influences and references, a cinematic labyrinth, Athens, Papazisis 2014).

Her research interests focus on the relationship of cinema and history, the representation of individual and collective memory in the cinema, the cinematic techniques for narrating the past and the relation of cinema with the other arts.
