“Student for a Day” Programme
 
Invitation to Participate

 

The Department of Theatre Studies of the University of the Peloponnese, based in Nafplio, is continuing its “Student for a Day” programme during the 2026-27 academic year. The programme offers young people the opportunity to become acquainted with the Department and experience university life first-hand for a day. The programme was approved at the 122nd Meeting of the Department Assembly,19 February 2025.

The programme is open to students attending General Upper Secondary Schools, Vocational Upper Secondary Schools, Unified Special Vocational Lower and Upper Secondary Schools and Special Vocational Education and Training Laboratories, as well as to students of Vocational Training Schools in the Regional Unit of Argolis. Participants have the opportunity to visit the Department of Theatre Studies and take part in its academic life for a day.

The programme aims to introduce participants to the academic field and curriculum of the Department of Theatre Studies, offer them first-hand experience of teaching and learning at university level and, above all, provide them with an experiential insight into student life.

Participation in the “Student for a Day” programme includes:
 

  • attending classes;
  • an introduction to the Department’s curriculum;
  • a guided tour of the Department’s facilities;
     
  • a meal at the University’s dining facilities.
     

Interested students may attend classes in the afternoon (15:00-18:00), subject to the written consent of their parents/guardians, or during morning hours (10:00-15:00), following approval by their school’s Teachers’ Association for participation in the programme and with the written consent of their parents/guardians.

Throughout the visit, “Students for a Day” are accompanied by the programme coordinator, Dr Katerina Kosti, Laboratory Teaching Staff member at the Department of Theatre Studies. Students of the Department also take part in the visits and activities as their “fellow students for a day”.

For participants under the age of 18, written parental/guardian consent is required. This must be provided through a formal declaration under Greek Law 1599/1986, with certification of the authenticity of the signature, or issued electronically via gov.gr, stating the parent’s/guardian’s consent for the child under their guardianship to participate in the “Student for a Day” programme.

During the current semester, the programme takes place every Monday, from 11:00 to 18:00.
