The course aims to introduce students to the concept of learning, a complex biological and cognitive process that has been examined across several academic disciplines, including psychology, education, and biology. Within the context of the course, learning is explored both in terms of its fundamental processes and its educational dimensions within the field of Drama in Education (DiE). By studying learning through relevant theories, stages, levels, and influencing factors, students develop an understanding of the potential of Drama in Education and the advantages it offers as a systematic pedagogical approach.
After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• define and explain the concept of learning;
• identify the frameworks through which learning is approached within Drama in Education;
• recognize the significance of major learning theories;
• design educational programmes that respond to the needs of the learning process through Drama in Education across a variety of settings;
• adjust programme design according to the specific characteristics and requirements of different contexts;
• evaluate the individual components and activities of educational programmes.
