  3. Specialist scientific advisors on cultural matters: cultural managers, advisors on artistic planning and production, officers responsible for artistic activities in public- and private-sector bodies (Ministries, Regional and Local Government Authorities, festivals, theatres, museums, spaces of art, education and culture, archives and libraries, foundations, research centres, social bodies, the media, etc.).

Graduates of the Department of Theatre Studies (D.T.S.) also possess the necessary theoretical and artistic background to continue their studies at the level of a postgraduate programme or doctoral degree, in Greece or abroad, with the ultimate aim of an academic career in Higher Education Institutions (H.E.I.) and in other public or private research, cultural or scientific institutions. Finally, upon obtaining their degree, graduates of the D.T.S. are entitled to register as full members of the Panhellenic Scientific Association of Theatre Scholars (PE.SY.TH.).

* It is noted that, until the academic year 2014–15, the Department belonged to the “teaching schools” (kathigitikes scholes), which secured teaching as a career path for students. However, since 2019–20 the automatic award of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence (P.D.E.) to our students has been approved, on the basis of a specific programme of relevant compulsory courses that have been incorporated and approved. In addition, Transitional Provisions have been established for the retroactive award of the P.D.E. to those admitted between 2015–16 and 2018–19. See the relevant Appendix with the posted file “Regulation of Pedagogical and Teaching Competence.”

Finally, by virtue of P.D. 105/2009, published in Government Gazette A′ 144/13-08-2009, the provisions of P.D. 125/2000 (Government Gazette A′ 111/2000), “Professional accreditation of the graduates of the Departments of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and of the University of Patras and of the Department of Theatre of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,” apply correspondingly also to the graduates of the Department of Theatre Studies of the School of Fine Arts of the University of the Peloponnese.
