Course Description

The course introduces students to scenography through both theoretical and practical approaches. It explores the historical development of stage space and its contemporary artistic practices, focusing on the relationship between scenography, performance, and visual arts. Through workshop work and the creation of scaled models, students develop creative skills and an understanding of spatial composition in relation to theatre, contemporary art, and social context.

After the completion of the course, students will be able to:

•    understand key approaches to the creation of scenographic space 
•    recognize and use basic scenographic terminology 
•    apply scenographic concepts in both theory and practice 
•    analyse and design stage space in relation to performance and directing 
•    synthesize visual and spatial elements in scenographic composition 
•    transfer scenographic knowledge to educational and creative contexts 
•    relate space and time to theatrical performance across different settings
