Course Description

The course aims to familiarize students with devising theatre techniques, collaborative and interdisciplinary creative practices, and the integration of the various theatrical arts, including scenography, lighting, costume design, music, and video. It introduces students to formalist approaches, playwriting practices, and dramaturgical analyses of postmodern performances, bringing these elements together in the process of directing a short, fully developed performance.

Through lectures, experiential workshops, rehearsals, and performance projects, students explore contemporary approaches to theatre-making while developing their artistic and directorial skills.

After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • integrate theoretical knowledge and practical applications in the creation of artistic work;
  • apply devising and interdisciplinary performance-making techniques;
  • collaborate effectively within creative teams;
  • engage in critical reflection and self-evaluation;
  • make informed artistic and production-related decisions;
  • demonstrate respect for diversity and different perspectives;
  • exhibit professional responsibility in artistic practice;

document and articulate the theoretical and practical foundations of their creative work.
