Course Description

The course introduces students to improvisation techniques and the fundamental principles of composition and choreography, integrating experiential practice within a broader research-oriented framework. It encourages the development of a personal approach to embodied inquiry, creative practice, and performance, in dialogue with contemporary trends in the performing arts.

After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • apply practice-as-research methodologies in creative and performance contexts;
  • develop and articulate their own movement vocabulary through diverse compositional approaches;
  • explore movement material, time, rhythm, and spatial structures through embodied practice;
  • understand how these elements shape the quality and meaning of movement;
  • approach the choreographic process through the integration of experiential research, creative experimentation, and theoretical reflection.
