Course Description

The course explores the relationship between Drama in Education (DiE) and intercultural education in the context of contemporary multicultural societies. It links theory and practice, focusing on how drama pedagogy can address issues of inclusion, diversity, and “otherness”. It also develops students’ ability to design and implement drama-based educational programmes in diverse settings, taking into account group dynamics, age, and context.

After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • understand the social and political conditions shaping contemporary education and the need for plurality;
  • understand the relationship between intercultural education and drama pedagogy;
  • apply basic theories and techniques of DiE and intercultural education in practice;
  • use drama techniques to address issues such as racism, migration, and otherness;
  • design and evaluate drama education programmes for intercultural contexts.
